One may argue that parents have forgotten, or rather failed, to appreciate the good old way of raising up children to become independent. They would rather pamper their kids, predisposing them to failure to launch syndrome when mature and have to start a life of their own. It is ironical how most people who fail to launch are born of parents who are very successful in life. This can be attributed to the fact the said parents did have a hard time growing up.
