I just purchased my wedding dress and picked out the bridesmaids dresses for my wedding. My dress and the bridesmaids dresses definitely need to have slips underneath because of the design of the dresses. I don't know how to explain what the dresses look like, but they have "picked up" at the bottom. The slip definitely brings those out and makes the dresses look fuller, while also keeping the material from sticking to your legs and making it look flat.
My wedding is still a year away, so I decided not to purchase my slip with my gown. I figured I'd lose weight anyway and end up needing another size closer to the wedding. I was going to get one a few months before. Fresh flowers almost always look better than silks, and quality silks usually cost just as much as fresh flowers anyway. Cheap silks look like crap. Visit some florists and some grocery store/supermarket florists and ask if they can make what you want.
As a general rule wedding dresses are undoable unless you know for a fact it is Silk, as they are synthetic fabric. A red dress is not a, however have you talked to your fianc about it; he may have a strong opinion regarding such a large statement. Many dress designers have dresses that have red accents so that you can have your love of red and he can have the tradition he may want.
Black silk flowers are going to look ridiculous, since black flowers don't exist naturally in nature. Do yourself a favor and reconsider. Maybe try black feathers and blue flowers instead, for a prettier and more natural look. Or black beads or crystals embedded in the flower blooms. Or a black ribbon around blue flowers.
It's your wedding and you can do what you want. I do believe that you would have to order it special order in red. I have been trying to get a satin dress for myself dyed a darker color and I have yet to find a place. I've been trying for a year. Anyway...just make sure that you at least try on some white or ivory dresses. Most of the time you'll end up with something you never thought you would have wanted
